2012 Wedding Invitation Trends
Personal logos and monograms are being created to be used throughout a wedding invitation suite and beyond for a consistent look to unify a wedding celebration. Carnival and circus themes are also big this year. Many rustic ranch, barn, or outdoor/tent weddings are being featured and a corresponding invitation can reflect that theme. Watercolor washes and illustrations on invitations is a new trend observed. Tradition is also coming back with the use of Family crests, Foil and engraving. A fun twist that KMS is experimenting with is the use of watercolor to design a personal wedding crest for a couple. Colors for spring are soft hues such as pale pinks, peaches, and creams. Fall colors will be more earthy. Traditional invitation colors will be black/white or silver/white with shades of grey or bright pops of color. Letterpress and engraving are a constant in wedding invitations, but there are other options for smaller budgets such as thermography or digital/offset printing.
